rainbow winter carolers!

hello and hope everyone is having a happy weekend!
today I have a rainbow themed christmas card up on the Lawn Fawn blog and guess what? I even made a video! you can check it out here or on my youtube channel!

so sweet and fun, right?!
I stamped and colored the images from Dad Jokes and Caroling Mice with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. then I used a white gel pen to add details. once everything dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut out the images.

for the background, I had a ton of fun!
I used the new Snowflakes Stencil with a rainbow of Distress Inks: Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Peacock Feathers.
then I kept the stencil in place and squished my embossing ink pad through the stencil to get the colors all covered.
then I removed the stencil and added clear embossing powder and heat set the snowflakes. once it was completely cooled off, I used Distress Inks in Black Soot, Blueprint Sketch and Mermaid Lagoon over the snowflakes to finish ink blending the sky! it's so fun!

I repeated that problem 3 times.
then I used the Give it a Whirl dies to die cut out from the backgrounds. I also die cut out a 2nd small circle from the die set.
I also die cut out the snowy border from white cardstock.

on the larger circle die cut, I added a lot of the images we colored for the scene! and I love that they are revealed when you literally 'give it a whirl!' LOL
I used most of the other images on the bottom of the card. and all of the layers of the card, have used the same emboss resist technique with the snowflakes!

the sentiment was heat embossed in white on top Black Licorice cardstock and then die cut out with the Fancy Wavy Banners.
I sure hope this card made you smile - and if you check out the video, I apologize in advance for the footage I lost, and the struggles I endured! lol! let's just say, I definitely demonstrated some 'stick with it ness' lol.

you're my rainbow on a cloudy day

hello!
today I have this happy and encouraging card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

the current challenge is all about rainbows - my favorite!!
I started by stamping and coloring the images from Beary Rainy Day, All the Clouds and My Rainbow. I added lots of details with a white gel pen, and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out! I already loved making this card because the images are so bright and happy!

I used the aqua cardstock from the Rainbow Pack Cardstock and the green Cilantro cardstock for the scene.
then I used Distress Inks in Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina to add some dimension to the sky.
I used Distress Inks in Pine Needles and Mowed Lawn for the grass!
I die cut out the grass with Stitched Hillside Borders and the Grassy Borders die.
then I used the Rainy Sky Stencil and some white embossing paste to add fun texture and the rain!

part of the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock and then cut into banners.
the 'rainbow' part of the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto vellum, and then die cut with the Stitched Sentiment Banners. then I used my markers to color in the letters (on the back of the vellum) in a rainbow pattern.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #207 - Rainbows!

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

I had so much fun coloring up these beautiful bats!

so fun!
this challenge was made for me!

no images on this card - I know! I was too focused on the rainbow! but I have another rainbow card in the works with lots of cute images, no worries!
I used alcohol inks in a rainbow of colors to create the background! LOVED playing with my alcohol inks again; it's always so fun and exciting to see what the end result will be!

next, I used the Corner Rainbow Stencils to add some texture with White Embossing Paste. swoon! alcohol inks and texture! who could ask for anything more?! ha!

the sentiment is from Rain or Shine Before 'N Afters. it was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice cardstock, and then cut into strips and popped up with foam tape.

my first card uses the new Christmas Time Dogs stamp set!

these cute little pups are so adorable!
I stamped them out and colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. then I added some details with a white gel pen. once everything was dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

next, I die cut out multiple small tags from the new Essential Tags die set. I used Distress Inks to ink blend in greens: Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron. then I sprinkled some white acrylic ink on top to mimic some snow.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto one of the tags and then lined them up all off kilter along the card front.

 

my next card has the cute cute cute Christmas Time Cats!

so fun and festive!
again, I colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then added details with a white gel pen. of course, I also used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

I used the Frames & Tags die set and die cut out the green frame for the scene. then I used the Frames & Flags die set to die cut out the patterned paper from the new Christmas Party Paper Pad. LOVE all of the patterns in this paper pad!

 

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto black cardstock, and then used the large banner from the Flags & Frames die set to attach it to the card.

my first card uses the pretty Merriest Christmas die set!

so fun, right?!
the golden browns remind me of a christmas sugar cookie! lol
I started by ink blending with Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber onto white cardstock. then I used the Reindeer Stencil and white embossing paste to add the subtle texture in the background!

next, I die cut out the frame using the Card Layout 3 Die Set from some Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment. I also used the same Distress Inks to add an ombre look to the glitter to tone down the brightness! so fun!

I die cut out the scripty part of the words from cream paper and then ink blended with the same colors onto the shadowed background die.
I finished the card off y sprinkling some puffy white pompoms and sequins! 

 

my next card showcases the new Happiest Holidays Die Set.
they just work so well together!

LOOOOOOVE this one!
I die cut the pine from the Pines & Holly die set many times and ink blended them with Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron and Pine Needles. then I sprinkled some white acrylic ink on top!

 

I did more ink blending on top of the scripty, glitter die! Again, I used the
Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment and this time, I used Pine Needles to add a little extra darkness to the bottom. so fun!
I used the Lattice Die with black cardstock and popped it up against the background.

the background is black cardstock and white embossing paste with the Petite Snow Stencil.

love how it came out!

my first tag uses the ALL of the new products!

I used the new Essential Tags Die Set and die cut out three different patters of paper from the Christmas Time Paper Pad. the, I did some trimming and combined them together!I also added some details with white embossing paste and the Snowfall Stencil on the red holly patterned paper.

next, I used white cardstock and die cut out the presents from the new Gift Builder Die Set. I used Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina for one, and Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron and Pine Needles for the other. I also used Seedless Preserves and Festive Berries for the third present. then I attached them all together and added some glitter to the bows!

 

I really want to bring some of the colors from the string of lights paper out in the rest of the tag.

 

my next tag also uses almost all of the new products! ha!
they just work so well together!

LOOOOOOVE this one!
I die cut the pine from the Pines & Holly die set many times and ink blended them with Distress Inks in Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron and Pine Needles. then I sprinkled some white acrylic ink on top!

 

I heat embossing the sentiment in white onto vellum, and then die cut it out with the Circle Frames die set. then I glued the pines in a half circle around to mimic the look of a wreath!
I layered two of the tags that were die cut with the new paper pack.

I finished the card off by attaching some small white pompoms!
